Palm Beach Atlantic University Hosts Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow” Show with Larry Kudlow

On November 14, 2024, Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) had the privilege of hosting a live broadcast of "Kudlow," the well-known Fox Business Network (FBN) show hosted by Larry Kudlow. The show, which focuses on the economy, the stock market and political discussions, took place in the Jerry Thomas Conference Room in Sachs Hall, providing students with an exciting opportunity to experience a professional live broadcast production.

My name is Chloe Nepveux, and I am a public relations major and journalism minor. I had the unique opportunity to shadow the FBN production. This opportunity was made possible thanks to the recommendations of my professors, Dr. Katherine Chute and Dr. Jiehua Zhang, who strongly support their students in gaining real-world experience in their fields.

During the event, I was able to engage directly with FBN's production team, including vice president of FBN Programming, Stephanie Freeman, who shared valuable insights into the production process. As part of the hands-on experience, I greeted high-profile guests and helped ensure the smooth operation of the broadcast. Notable guests on the show included political commentator Kellyanne Conway, former Trump administration officials Kash Patel and Chad Wolf, economist Steve Moore, and policy experts Michael Faulkender and Brooke Rollins.

In addition to greeting guests and assisting with the production, I maintained direct communication with Stephanie Freeman, managing the timing and arrival of the guests. This allowed me to see firsthand the fast-paced environment of a live television production.

My experience concluded with sitting in on the final moments of the broadcast, and observing how the production team handled the interactions between Larry Kudlow and his guests. This opportunity was especially meaningful for me, providing invaluable insight into live news production and strategic communications.

This experience has truly broadened my understanding of what goes into a live broadcast. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone pursuing a career in public relations, journalism, or any communications field. The chance to shadow such an influential show and meet its guests has been truly unforgettable.

This event not only gave PBA students like me a chance to engage in the world of communication, but it also highlighted the university's commitment to providing hands-on learning opportunities for students interested in public relations, journalism, and other communications disciplines. As a part of PBA's mission to foster career development and professional skills, opportunities like this help to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience.
