More than 100 students, faculty and staff came together to celebrate Thanksgiving at this year's annual Lundy-Fetterman Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted by the Business School. For over a decade, this cherished tradition has provided a warm gathering, especially for those unable to travel home for the holidays.
"Tonight's dinner was delicious, and it felt like I was part of one big family," said first-year student Emily Ehresman. "I'm far from home, but I felt at home tonight."
The evening began with an inspiring message from Campbell alumna Ashley Stephenson, owner of Story Photographers. Stephenson spoke about integrating faith into business, sharing how she uses photography as a ministry to uplift and celebrate others. Guided by the "fruits of the spirit," her work emphasizes noticing the unique beauty in each person's story.
Dr. Edward Fubara, associate dean for academic affairs, attends every year. "People often describe business in negative terms - greedy and self-interested. But one of the great things about Campbell's Business School is that we talk about business in broader terms," he said. "Our Thanksgiving speaker talked about applying the fruit of the spirit to her business. That's not something you hear every day. Of course, faculty, staff and students enjoying a delicious Thanksgiving meal together doesn't happen every day either."
The event highlighted the spirit of community, connection, and gratitude that defines the holiday season in the Business School.
"Thanksgiving is not just a time to share a meal, but an opportunity to share in the joy of community and gratitude," said Dr. Mark Steckbeck, associate professor of economics. "I'm grateful for the chance to learn from each of our students, and to break bread together as we celebrate not just the season, but the bonds we create in and out of the classroom."
