One treated following fire at Grandview Lofts Tuesday

MUSCATINE, Iowa - A resident at the Grandview Senior Lofts was transported to UnityPoint Health-Quad Cities Muscatine by ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation following a two-alarm fire at the complex Tuesday (July 16) morning.

The Muscatine Fire Department responded at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a structure fire at the Grandview Senior Lofts, 1925 Grandview Avenue, Muscatine. The fire was located on the third floor of the complex, and was quickly extinguished after units arrived on the scene. There was heavy smoke throughout the third floor of the building, and a second alarm for departmental call back was initiated.

Approximately 15 personnel from the Muscatine Fire Department were on scene along with six officers from the Muscatine Police Department, and two firefighters from the Fruitland Fire Department.
