Cooper University Health Care Receives “We Value Our Veterans” Award From New Jersey Governor’s Department of Veterans Affairs

On November 11, at a Veterans Day ceremony held at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial at Holmdel, New Jersey, Cooper University Health Care was recognized by the New Jersey Governor's Department of Veterans Affairs with the "We Value Our Veterans" Employer Award for its commitment to veterans' causes and support of veterans.

The "We Value Our Veterans" Award gives counties, municipalities, businesses, and academic institutions across New Jersey the opportunity to value and honor the sacrifices, patriotism, and bravery displayed by men and women who have worn the military uniform.

"This award honors Cooper University Health Care's commitment to those who have served - our own Cooper team members as well as those in the community we have the privilege to serve," said Kevin O'Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper. To receive the award, Cooper completed a rigorous application process that weighs a broad range of criteria demonstrating an organization's commitment to its veterans and veteran causes as a whole. Employers are awarded points for specific initiatives such as providing veterans-only parking, recognizing veteran-owned businesses, honoring veterans on Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, and other holidays, volunteering at veteran-related and community-based events and any additional unique programs offered by an organization to support employees who served.
