Location: Tallahassee

Tallahassee, FL. - September 17, 2024 - Bryant Miller Olive P.A. (BMO) is pleased to announce Robert (Bob) C. Reid has been elected, by unanimous vote, as a regular fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel.

The prestigious organization, established in 1995, was created to bring together bond lawyers who are distinguished for their exemplary skill, expertise, and professional and ethical standards in their practice. Membership is limited and extended on an invite-only basis. Expertise is the primary evaluation criterion of prospective nominees. The College evaluates a nominee's expertise as a combination of the knowledge, experience, skill, judgment, and motivation the lawyer brings to the financing. Indicators of such evaluation criteria include the number, variety, and complexity of bond financing transactions in which the lawyer has participated.

For the past 47 years, Reid has focused his practice specifically on financial transactions and tax planning. Since 1985, his concentration on tax-exempt and taxable financing has taken precedence and is now exclusively focused on this area. Reid applies his experience in tax matters arising in financings involving multi-family housing, single-family housing, public housing, hotels, convention and sports facilities, educational facilities, and governmental projects.

Mr. Reid has used his tax and project finance background to lead the firm in tax credit financings using new markets tax credits, historic preservation tax credits, and low-income housing tax credits, and more recently in the area of Opportunity Zones. He also provides consulting and special counsel services to local governments on issues involving the creation and preservation of affordable and workforce housing, and the use of new market tax credits and Opportunity Zones as an economic development tool. He is the former Chair of the firm's Affordable Housing and the Chair of the firm's New Markets Tax Credit practice areas.

"Bob's nomination and election by his peers as a Fellow to the College is a testament to his credibility and work over the past 47 years." Said JoLinda Herring, BMO's CEO and Managing Shareholder.
