Argentina, the Italian sky champions to celebrate Italian sport

Within the framework of the new event "Day of Italian Sport in the World", the Consulate General of Italy in Bahia Blanca and the Honorary Consular Agency of Italy in Ushuaia, in collaboration with the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) and Cerro Castor of Ushuaia, organised on Sunday 8 September - in coordination with the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires - a reception with the champions of the Elite World Cup team, who were in Argentina again this year for training in the Tierra del Fuego Province during the month of September.

More than 70 guests, including important authorities from the provincial government and the city of Ushuaia, young people from the local Italian community and personalities from the world of sport, gathered to celebrate sport in the majestic Cerro Castor ski resort, the southernmost in the world. The event, inaugurated by Consul General Nicola Bazzani, together with the Minister of Tourism of the Provincial Government, Dante Querciali, and CONI Delegate in Argentina, Pablo Squillari, provided guests with the opportunity to interact with Italian top athletes Marta Bassino, Federica Brignone, Roberta Melesi and Dominik Paris, as well as coach Daniele Simoncelli, Technical Director Luca Giovanni Rulfi, and the rest of the staff of the Italian Women's World Cup Elite team. The occasion enabled those present to talk about the value of sport, with champions' anecdotes from sporting life for fans and enthusiasts.

The Day of Italian Sport in the World is the new event launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in agreement with the Ministry of Sport and CONI, to show - through sport and its protagonists - the excellence and Italian industries in the sector, also in terms of promoting the major events that will take place in Italy, starting from the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics in February 2026.
