Azerbaijani and Georgian Defense Ministers discussed military cooperation issues

On September 10, a bilateral meeting was held in Batumi between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Chikovani.
At the meeting held with representatives of both countries, Mr. Irakli Chikovani welcomed the guests and emphasized the important role of the meetings between the heads of the two states in the development of Azerbaijani-Georgian relations.
Expressing satisfaction with the visit to the fraternal country, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov noted that relations in the military sphere, as in other areas, are constantly developing.
Azerbaijan Defense Minister highlighted that the organization of mutual visits and meetings in various formats is a vivid example of the high-level cooperation between the countries.
Prospects for military cooperation between the countries were discussed and a detailed exchange of views on increasing the intensity of joint exercises was held at the meeting. Support for the territorial integrity of the countries recognized at the international level was shown.
Then the sides discussed in detail issues of ensuring peace and security in the region, prospects for the development of cooperation in the military, military-technical, and military-educational fields, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
