Barton, Jasper & Lawrence Counties - Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on various routes in Barton, Jasper and Lawrence counties for a resurfacing project beginning the week of August 5, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
This project is part of Gov. Parson's Rural Routes program. The state's approved Fiscal Year 2023 budget provided an additional $100 million in General Revenue for work on Missouri's low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, MoDOT has identified approximately 1,700 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition. By the end of the program, these 113 locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot mix asphalt to improve the road conditions.
This is the work being done on this project:
Contractor crews will add an overlay of new asphalt and permanent striping to the above routes.
Traffic impacts:
Drivers are urged to use caution as they may experience a rough ride in areas until the resurfacing project is complete.
Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.
