UW School of Computing Hosts Open House for Students Today

University of Wyoming students who want to learn more about UW's School of Computing have that opportunity today (Thursday).

Pizza and Panda Express food will be served from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Shoshone Room in the lower level of the Washakie Center. The free event is open to all current and prospective UW students.

"Network with the School of Computing faculty and staff members and discover how you can upgrade your major with computing," says Launa Chavez, the school's marketing coordinator.

UW faculty members will demonstrate a variety of applied computing technology in different fields, including black holes and astronomy; forward-looking infrared camera; applying a wildlife sensor to a golden eagle; Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center quadcopters; 3D modeling; drone and trail cameras; robotic arm, soil sensors and TunePad; ArcGIS StoryMaps; and interactive touch table maps.
