At Sumitomo Electric's booth, the exhibit was divided into sections for different markets such as automotive/EV, aircraft, and small parts manufacturing. One of the highlights of our exhibit was a sensing tool for visualizing the state of machining. Experts at our Tool Engineering Center in Itami participated through a video connection to our booth. They showed visitors live demonstrations of how the sensing tool can be used to improve machining. Through such real-time monitoring, Sumitomo Electric is able to help customers select the most suitable cutting tools for their needs and attain optimal machining conditions. I saw how IoT-based visualization will become an essential technology for manufacturing, and how it supports our company's aim to be more than a cutting tool provider and help customers achieve greater efficiency and develop smart factories.
The theme of JIMTOF 2024 was "technologies passed down to the future offers unlimited possibilities." As one of the participants at this event, Sumitomo Electric reaffirmed our determination to contribute to society through our products and services in this field.
