UW School of Energy Resources Releases ‘Consolidated Review of Energy in Wyoming’ Report

Dawson Kluesner

The first "Consolidated Review of Energy in Wyoming (CREW)" report from the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources' (SER) Center for Energy Regulation and Policy Analysis (CERPA) is now available. The CREW report will be updated each month to provide data and information about Wyoming's energy sector.

The CREW report summarizes key takeaways from current economic indicators; provides an overview of Wyoming's energy sectors, including crude oil, natural gas, coal, uranium, wind energy, soda ash and electricity generation; details employment trends; and provides updates on state tax collections.

The report was created and will be maintained by Dawson Kluesner, an assistant research professional specializing in energy economics in CERPA.

"We listened to energy industry professionals who desired a comprehensive monthly report to summarize economic data and that was the genesis of the CREW report," Kluesner says. "While several Wyoming and federal agencies produce monthly economic data related to energy commodities, there isn't one place where that information is consolidated. We are hopeful that the CREW report provides energy industry professionals, policy makers and Wyoming citizens greater visibility into what is driving our economy."

CERPA Director Kara Fornstrom is grateful for the collaborative efforts of many people who contributed to the format of the CREW report and its contents.

"We have benefited from numerous conversations with stakeholders to create a monthly report that is comprehensive in nature and accesses the most current data available to inform readers of the various factors that comprise Wyoming's energy economy," she says.

The CREW report can be found at www.uwyo.edu/cerpa.
