Making Colorado a Microchip Manufacturing Hub: Governor Polis Celebrates CHIPS Act Funds Creating Good-Paying Jobs

COLORADO SPRINGS - Today, Governor Polis, joined by representatives from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, US Department of Commerce, Colorado Springs Mayor Mobolade, and others, celebrated the $75 million in CHIPS and Science Act funding recently awarded to Colorado Springs-based Entegris. This funding will create new, good-paying jobs and further establish Colorado as a Microchip Manufacturing Hub, and strengthen the state's manufacturing and technology industries.

"Onshoring of microchip manufacturing is very important to our national security and our economy. The Biden Administration's historic investments in the microchip manufacturing industry is making America, and Colorado, more competitive and bringing good-paying manufacturing jobs to Colorado Springs. As we prepare our economy to lead in the sectors of tomorrow, we care continuing our work to help Colorado remain the best state for businesses and workers," said Governor Polis.

In 2022, Governor Polis joined the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and Entegris to announce the company's plans to expand in Colorado Springs and create nearly 600 net new jobs. This expansion was supported by the Strategic Fund Job Growth Incentive approved by the Colorado Economic Development Commission. These state incentives, combined with incentives from the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County, qualified Entegris for the $75 million in federal funding celebrated today.
