NASA mobile observatory, walkthrough solar system exhibit and more cosmic exploration during Prelude in the Park Aug. 3

If you're looking for some cosmic adventure this summer, check out the Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park event on Saturday, August 3.

This free signature event, which features the Pacific Symphony, is from 4 to 8:30 pm at 24932 Veterans Way.

The night kicks off with the Prelude from 4 to 7 pm featuring an array of galactic activities for the whole family. Patrons can connect with local STEM non-profit, Science Heads, including NASA Solar System Ambassadors, who will be on hand with their mobile observatory, Explorer 1, an astronomical observatory that offers a professional astronomer-like experience for all ages. Advanced computer-controlled telescopes for both daytime and nighttime use offers breathtaking views of the Sun, planets, nebulas, and many other astronomical objects. There will also be a walkthrough solar system exhibit, silent disco, 360-camera, face painting, bounce houses, planet beach ball pit, characters from a galaxy far, far away, games and delectable fare from several food trucks.

Stay tuned to the City's news page for more information about Prelude entertainment.
