Holiday Home Decoration Contest winners

Five Lakewood homes were selected as winners of the first City of Lakewood Holiday Home Decoration Contest, showing off their holiday spirit in a display of twinkling lights, inflatables, vintage decorations and multi-media cheer.

More than 30 residents submitted a photo of their dazzling home exteriors by the contest deadline of Dec. 10 and a team of city staff selected the five winning homes, spreading out the winners across all areas of the city. The selection team had a difficult job because there were so many beautifully decorated homes.

Lakewood City Council members, joined by a city photographer and CityTV, visited each winner's home on Sunday evening, Dec. 15. They delivered congratulatory items, including a lawn sign, along with warm holiday wishes.

The five winners will be featured in a Lakewood CityTV video posted on this page by Jan. 1.

And thank you to all the Lakewood residents who have decorated their homes so nicely during the holiday season. The city plans to continue this recognition program in the future and will look at ways to enhance the program and build on this first good year.
