NOFD RESPONDS TO TWO-ALARM FIRE

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 7:34 P.M. the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 714 7^th Street. Upon arrival, companies were confronted with fire coming from the first and second-floor windows in the left side and rear of the two-story home. A second alarm was requested for additional staffing to respond due to the proximity of the building to nearby homes. The members of the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) did an exceptional job controlling the spread of the fire and restricting major damage to the buildings nearby. The home was reportedly under construction and there were no reported injuries to (NOFD) members or occupants. The incident was placed under control at 8:12 P.M.
