Coverage Counts: A New Resource Highlighting Access to Foundation Medicine’s High-Quality Test Portfolio

Foundation Medicine was founded with the mission to bring the benefits of high-quality genomic testing to the point of care for every patient with advanced cancer, regardless of their insurance coverage or financial circumstances. It is a commitment that has remained true for more than a decade and explains why we place such emphasis on expanding coverage of our portfolio of comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) tests for patients.

Introducing Our Coverage Counts Webpage

We work with insurance providers across the nation to secure broader coverage for our tests, simplify the process for patients and providers and reduce the financial barriers to testing. On our new Coverage Counts website, you'll discover that tests in our portfolio are covered by major national U.S. health plans, including Aetna, Elevance Health, Medicare, Tricare, UnitedHealthcare -for qualifying patients across tumor types. The new interactive map on our Coverage Counts site lets healthcare providers and patients explore which insurers cover our tests in their state. Additionally, health plans and benefit managers can download Foundation Medicine's evidence portfolio to view evidence of medical necessity.

When a health plan provides coverage and Foundation Medicine is an out-of-network provider, patients may still access our services and tests but may pay higher cost sharing. Our FoundationAccessTM program offers billing and reimbursement support to mitigate uncertainties. We provide need based financial assistance to qualifying patients.

Helping Providers Expand Access to Precision Medicine for Their Patients

We are passionate about accelerating progress in precision medicine and we will continue to bring advances in testing technology and expand our portfolio of tests to deliver even more for patients in the future. Through our new website, we will continue to provide health care providers with the most up-to-date information about coverage of our tests so that they can make informed recommendations to each individual patient.
