Mayor Mantello Announces 8 Proposals Received for New City Hall

TROY, NY (July 1) - Mayor Carmella Mantello announced today that the City of Troy received eight proposals for a new city hall.

"The administration will be evaluating and narrowing down the proposals to find the best fit for our community," said Mayor Mantello. "We are eager to see what our options are and hope to find a permanent space that is fiscally responsible and embodies the pride and history of Troy."

Mayor Mantello put out the request for proposals back in April to find a permanent location for City Hall. In their request, they asked proposals to include locations with 30,000-45,000 square feet of space, public access, ADA compliance or the potential for such compliance, approximately 80-100 parking spaces, and near public transportation. The deadline for such applications was June 28 at 11:00 a.m.

"From day one, the 5th floor of the Hedley Building was supposed to be temporary," Mayor Mantello continued. "The people of Troy deserve more than an unmarked 'City Floor.' My administration will make sure that our new City Hall makes fiscal sense and showcases the strength and resilience of our community for years to come."

An in-house committee will review the submissions, conduct interviews and narrow down the choice. The decision for a permanent City Hall will be awarded within the next three months.
