The Colours of Africa 2024 9-11 September 2024 at Eden 1, Central World

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with twelve African Embassies accredited to Thailand including Egypt, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ghana, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Botswana and South Africa and the public and private sectors concerned including PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Minor Internationals, Thai Union Group Public Company Limited, Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, Thai Summit Group, Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines will organize "The Colours of Africa 2024" at Eden 1, Central World, Bangkok.

The event aims to promote awareness and better understanding of Africa among the Thai public, people to people contacts as well as sustainable cooperation between Thailand and Africa.

The main activities of this event include:

1. Activities to create knowledge and awareness of Africa among the Thai students from 9 -10 September 2024. Junior high school students from Bangkok and the vicinity areas have been invited to participate in painting, student quiz and speech competitions on Africa. The winners will be awarded scholarships and certificates by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. Activities to promote potentials and opportunities for trade, investment, cultural and tourism cooperation between Thailand and Africa from 10 - 11 September 2024, which will include:

2.1 Exhibition Booths of African Embassies, African airlines. Thai hotels in Africa and African food and beverage exhibitors.

2.2 African music and cultural performances including African cultural troops, contemporary African music performance and African music band sponsored by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP).

2.3 Thai - African Fashion Show.

2.4 African cooking demonstration and African tea/coffee/cacao cupping sponsored by African Embassies and Ethiopian Airlines.

2.5 African Ambassador Talks

2.6 Final round of student quiz and speech competitions

2.7 Lucky draws of air tickets and accommodation in Africa sponsored by Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Minor Hotels.

2.8 Quiz competitions on Africa for the general public throughout the event. The prizes will be sponsored by Thai Union Group Public Company Limited, Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited and Thai Summit Group.

The Opening Ceremony will be held on 10 September 2024 from 14.30 - 15.30 hours at Eden 1, Central World and presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs or representative together with African Ambassadors to Thailand and representatives of the event partners. Invited guests will include members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international oganisations, high ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former Thai Ambassadors to Africa, African Honorary Consuls and representatives from the Thai public and private sectors concerned as well as the media.
