Bowie State Wellness Kiosks Operational on Campus

Students Get 24-Hour Access to Reproductive Healthcare Products

(BOWIE, Md.) - The Bowie State University community will now have increased access to reproductive healthcare and other wellness products through the golden wellness kiosks placed in multiple locations around the campus.

The kiosks are in the Student Center game room, Thurgood Marshall Library, Alex Haley Residence Hall and the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community.

The wellness kiosks are the brainchild of a collaborationbetween Bowie State alumna Jakeya Johnson '23 and Maryland State Senator Ariana Kelly. Johnson developed the initial policy as part of a class project while earning her master's degree in public administration at Bowie State. Johnson would later bring her proposal to Senator Kelly's office, who brought the bill before the General Assembly before Gov. Wes Moore signed it into law.
