Seidel to Give ‘State of the University’ Address Sept. 17

Faculty, staff, students and members of the public are invited to the University of Wyoming's fall 2024 "State of the University" address Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Center and West Yellowstone Ballrooms.

The event will include remarks from UW President Ed Seidel and other UW leaders, with refreshments provided. Snacks and conversation will follow during a social hour in Pokes Pub from 5-6 p.m.

Guests or members of the public attending the "State of the University" address who would like to request disability accommodations are asked to contact the university's Disability Support Services office at (307) 766-3073 or email [email protected] as early in advance of the event as possible.

Seidel has granted 1.5 hours of release time for UW employees to attend the event. The scheduling of release time should be a collaborative discussion between employee and supervisor to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the unit.

Additionally, UW employees can expect release time for the following events during the 2024-25 academic year. All release time except for that defined in the employee handbook is subject to the president's discretion:

Nov. 5 -- General election (employee handbook) -- one hour.

December -- Holiday Market -- 1.5 hours.

April -- Staff Recognition Day -- two hours.

April -- Spring Convocation -- two hours.
