Resurfacing Work Scheduled on U.S. Route 24 and U.S. Route 63 in Randolph County

HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, resurfacing work is scheduled to begin soon on two routes in Randolph County.

  • September 16 - U.S. Route 24, from the Chariton County line to 1.5 miles west of Route C near Huntsville in Randolph County (length of improvement is 7.6 miles). Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone.
  • September 23 - U.S. Route 63 (Southbound), from 0.3 mile south of U.S. 24 at Moberly to the Boone Co line (length of improvement is 15 miles).

The $6.6M contract was awarded this summer to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC of Columbia, Missouri.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working. Workers will be present during daylight hours. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change. All work expected to be completed by the end of the 2024.
