Calaveras County

Highway Lane Closures
State Routes 26 & 49

Calaveras County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various lane closures on State Route 26 (SR-26) and SR-49 for maintenance and construction operations. Work to occur as follows:

State Route 26

  • One-way traffic control at South Fork Mokelumne River Bridge for guardrail work beginning Monday, November 25, 2024, through Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control at North Fork Mokelumne River Bridge for guardrail work beginning Monday, November 25, 2024, through Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

State Route 49

  • One-way traffic control from Monte Verda Street to SR-4 for utility work on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Caltrans urges motorists traveling in the Sierras to #MoveOver and slow down when approaching Caltrans snow removal equipment on the highway. Please do not pass snowplows, graders, or sanders, unless instructed by the driver. Not only is it dangerous to you, other motorists, and our workers, it's also against the law. Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
