Highway Lane Closures
State Routes 49 & 88

Amador County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various lane closures on State Route 49 (SR-49) and SR-88 for maintenance and construction operations. Work to occur as follows:

State Route 49

  • Long-term, one-way traffic control at the Mokelumne River Bridge (Amador/Calaveras County line) for bridge work through Friday, January 31, 2025.

State Route 88

  • One-way traffic control from Raven Road to Carson Drive for drainage work beginning Monday, November 25, 2024, through Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Caltrans urges motorists traveling in the Sierras to #MoveOver and slow down when approaching Caltrans snow removal equipment on the highway. Please do not pass snowplows, graders, or sanders, unless instructed by the driver. Not only is it dangerous to you, other motorists, and our workers, it's also against the law. For helpful information on winter driving conditions visit dot.ca.gov/travel/winter-driving-tips.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.

For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Be Work Zone Alert. For the latest highway conditions, visit quickmap.dot.ca.gov
