As Chanice's business grew, another key figure in her journey was Luis De La Hoz, Chairman of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and a leader at Valley Bank. Luis became an adviser and advocate for Chanice, consistently stepping in to remove obstacles. For instance, when TOC faced unexpected delays with permits, Luis was there to help Chanice obtain the equipment she needed.
"When I got my first vending opportunity at an event with over 5,000 people, I panicked because I didn't have access to a commercial kitchen on short notice," Chanice said. "Luis quickly helped me secure a kitchen, which led to catering government events and an invitation to bid on a daily meal contract."
From securing capital to keeping her store build-out on schedule, Jorge and Luis's support provided Chanice with the financial resources, mentorship, and problem-solving expertise needed to help her business flourish.
