Loretta Cangialosi '80, vice chair of the Adelphi University Board of Trustees, is continuing her unwavering commitment to Adelphi students by committing $5 million to the University in support of The Momentum Campaign: Extraordinary Impact.
President Riordan noted, "As vice chair of the board of trustees, chair of its Work/Life Committee and vice chair of the Finance and Investment Committee, Loretta has provided critical governance, helping to steer and transform the University with unparalleled dedication. This gift extends her extraordinary generosity to make a life-changing impact for Adelphi students, and we are deeply grateful."
Cangialosi's role on the campaign Steering Committee reflects her dedication, with her generous commitment fittingly supporting five of the campaign's six priorities:
In an interview about her support for the Momentum Campaign, Cangialosi explained, "I believe in giving back to Adelphi. An Adelphi education focuses on the core skills one needs to have, but it also opens your mind to new perspectives and new ways of thinking. We want this University to not only exist today, but we want it to exist long into the future-transforming students' lives through more access to education, more programs and more innovation."
Cangialosi is a retired senior vice president and controller at Pfizer Inc., where she worked for more than 27 years. A member of the Adelphi University Board of Trustees since 2013, she received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Adelphi in 1980.
"Loretta Cangialosi's extraordinary gift is not just in her philanthropy, but also in her exceptional leadership and dedicated service," says Thomas Kline, EdD, vice president of University advancement and external affairs. "Her quiet confidence and dedication have made a profound impact at Adelphi. Loretta doesn't seek the spotlight, yet her influence is far-reaching, exemplified through her leadership on the board of trustees, the Momentum Campaign Steering Committee and as a founding member of the Women's Leadership Conference Steering Committee. Her generosity extends across a wide variety of initiatives, supporting five of our six campaign priorities, and we are deeply grateful for her commitment to essential causes."
