Trevecca Nazarene University is beginning the 2024-25 school year with its largest-ever group of incoming students.

For the 2024-25 academic year, Trevecca is welcoming more than 1,160 new students to the Trevecca community, reaching the 1,000 threshold in new enrollment for the first time. The total includes 530 new traditional undergraduate students, 475 graduate and adult students and 160 high school students participating in dual enrollment. Final enrollment numbers will be available in mid-September after the University's official census.

"It's been exciting to go through orientation with the largest group of freshmen and transfers in school history, and to welcome a record number of students who are living on campus," said Melinda Miller, vice president of undergraduate enrollment. "We look forward to preparing these students, as well as all our Trojans, for their future careers and helping them all answer their calling to serve through a Christ-centered education."

Enrollment growth during this post-COVID period reflects Trevecca's desire to continue to innovate and evolve in the way it educates the next generation of servant leaders. Since the beginning of 2024, Trevecca has:

  • Launched a new dual enrollment program, in partnership with CampusEDU, featuring an innovative type of online learning designed to help high school students earn college credits, accelerate their academic progress and save money on college tuition.
  • Added a spring start date in the undergraduate nursing program for the 2024-25 academic year, which allows more potential nursing school students to complete training and obtain a degree while also helping to address the current national nursing shortage.
  • Transitioned to the Gulf South Conference and completed a full visual rebrand and licensing/apparel agreements with Nike and BSN Sports for the 2024-25 season.
  • Joined the prestigious Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), an international network of more than 135 graduate schools of education and a leader in rethinking advanced educational preparation.
  • Received the highest possible rating on the Tennessee State Board of Education's 2023 Educator Preparation Report Card, ranking among Tennessee's best schools for teacher education.

"The Covid-19 pandemic helped us realize in real time how important it is to be flexible and innovative in the way we educate the next generation," said Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf. "We offer degree options and learning formats that allow us to serve students in various stages of life while also meeting the needs of our community."

Trevecca has filled nearly all its residential space on campus, with only 20 beds remaining unoccupied for the fall semester. Classes for traditional undergraduates began on Tuesday, August 27.
