Chinese troops head to Laos for "Peace Train-2024" joint humanitarian medical rescue exercise

CHONGQING, China, Nov. 14 -- A "Peace Train" medical team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), composed of 150 members, departed from southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Monday by train to participate in the China-Laos "Peace Train-2024" joint humanitarian medical rescue exercise which are to be held in Laos in mid-to-late November, 2024.

The Chinese medical service force participating in the exercise is formed mainly by the medical team of the PLA Army Medical University. This is the fifth "Peace Train" joint exercise held by Chinese and Lao militaries. The exercise aims to consolidate and improve the joint command and rescue capabilities of the two militaries in medical service, and further deepen pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries.

The "Peace Train" joint exercise is an important cooperation program between the two militaries. In recent years, the "Peace Train" medical team has treated nearly 10,000 patients and held more than 50 academic exchanges in Laos, effectively promoting the friendship between the two countries and two militaries.
