Missing 1 Year Old Child from Massachusetts Safely Recovered by ALEA Troopers in Etowah County

On Friday, June 21, The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Fusion Center (AFC) received a law enforcement bulletin concerning an endangered missing 1-year-old child from the Fall River Police Department in Massachusetts.

According to information received from the Fall River Police Department, Genezza Packett, 22, was visiting her 1-year-old son, who lives in the custody of her aunt, on Thursday, June 20. Packett advised she was taking her son to a local Dunkin' Donuts but never returned with the child. After further investigation, Packett and the child were believed to be in a vehicle traveling south towards Mississippi. AFC Intelligence Analysts relayed pertinent information to Troopers assigned to ALEA's Highway Patrol Division. At approximately 10:15 a.m., ALEA Troopers located the vehicle on Interstate 59 in Etowah County near Attalla and conducted a traffic stop where the child was recovered safely. Packett is currently facing pending criminal charges by the Fall River Police Department in Massachusetts.
