Hakob Arshakyan meets with the delegation led by Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Serbia

On September 12, the Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan met with the delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of National Assembly of Serbia Edin Đerlek, who arrived in Armenia to take part in the 10th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The Member of the RA NA Armenia-Serbia Friendship Group Mikayel Tumasyan, as well as the member of Skupština of Serbia, the member of permanent delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Ivana Stamatović and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to the Republic of Armenia Tatjana Panajotovic Cvetković took part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guests, Hakob Arshakyan underscored that Armenia and Serbia have historical ties, and the peoples - warm friendly relations.

Highlighting the continuous and effective development of cooperation with Serbia, the NA Vice President expressed conviction that in a number of spheres, as political, economic, cultural, tourism there is great potential of more deepening the cooperation. In this context the two sides emphasized the necessity of direct flights between the two countries, especially taking into consideration the fact of having visa-free entry with Serbia.

"We are glad that we are in Armenia, and we are participating in the work of the Conference. We highlight the deepening of Serbia-Armenia inter-parliamentary cooperation. In this issue the effective work of the Friendship Groups is significant," Edin Đerlek underlined. He also spoke about the opportunities of using the existing potential.

At the meeting reference was also made to the importance of bilateral cooperation in the framework of the international organizations.

Hakob Arshakyan expressed hope that in the coming days the members of the delegation will have effective meetings and discussions.
