City of Killeen hosts Fall Stream Cleanup event

Volunteers can help clean Nolan Creek ditch at Andy K. Wells Hike and Bike Trail on Sept. 28

The Stormwater division of the City of Killeen's Engineering department is inviting volunteers to join them for a Fall Stream Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Andy K. Wells Hike and Bike Trail from 9 a.m. - noon.

Residents will help clean the ditch that runs along Nolan Creek.

The City's drainage areas can flow into creeks or rivers, so these services are scheduled throughout the year. These cleanup events help keep our waterways clear from trash and remove floatables and other items that may carry other pollutants, such as oil and grease, to the waterbodies.

Volunteers are asked to meet at Mickey's Dog Park at 2201 East Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Volunteers can check in on site, so there is no need to pre-register. For more information, residents may call (254) 616-3172.
