CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2024) - The Peanut Butter Challenge is an annual jar collection for local food pantries hosted by UF/IFAS Extension. Unopened jars of peanut butter can be donated at the following locations from Oct. 1-31:
  • Centennial Park Recreation Center, 1120 Centennial Blvd. Port Charlotte
  • Englewood Charlotte Public Library, 3450 N. Access Rd., Englewood
  • Port Charlotte Public Library, 2280 Aaron St., Port Charlotte
  • Punta Gorda Charlotte Public Library, 401 Shreve St. Punta Gorda
Peanut butter is an ever-popular item in food pantries because of its nutrient density and shelf stability. Last year's Peanut Butter Challenge collected a total of 27,769 pounds of the nutritious spread from 44 Florida counties.
