9:00 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:
  1. The purchase, acquisition, lease, transfer, or sale of real, personal or other property pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(a). Purpose: Bayfield Landfill and Compliance Order on Consent issued by CDPHE.
  2. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Bayfield Landfill and Compliance Order on Consent issued by CDPHE.

10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish.
  2. Approval of the ambulance service authorization to operate for Durango Fire Protection District.
  3. Approval of the ambulance service authorization to operate for Los Pinos Fire Protection District.
  4. Approval of the San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging proposal for services for SFY 2024-2025.
  5. Approval of a grant agreement with the Southwest Colorado Council of Governments and Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado, Inc. to facilitate broadband service in La Plata County through the purchase of equipment to connect Carrier Neutral Locations (CNLs) to a statewide or regional Middle Mile Broadband Connector Loop.
  6. Approval of the appointment of La Plata County's Commissioner delegate to the Legislative Committee for Colorado Counties, Inc.
  7. Approval of Resolution No. 2024-33 supporting a grant application for a stewardship impact program operated by the San Juan Mountains Associations.
  8. Approval of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Landfill Grant Application for Cycle #2.
  9. Approval of a letter supporting the Community Investment Alliance's application for Homelessness Resolution Program Funds.
  10. Approval of Resolution No. 2024-34 a resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of La Plata County, Colorado establishing fees for Durango High School parking at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, and amending Appendix A of the La Plata County Code.
  11. Approval of a letter supporting Manna's application for the Division of Housing's Homeless Resolution Program Funds.
  12. Consideration of notice of rate increase to house City of Durango municipal inmates and direction on new Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA).

Commissioner Matt Salka will hold in-person office hours at the County Administration Building, located at 1101 E. 2nd Avenue in Durango.
