At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Vladimir Putin.

The talks focused on advancing the multifaceted cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to the implementation of decisions and agreements reached during Vladimir Putin's state visit to Uzbekistan from 26-28 May 2024.

In this context, the productive outcomes of the recent joint commission meeting held the previous day were highly praised.

The meeting participants emphasised the need for coordinated efforts to sustain trade growth and to support and expedite collaborative projects in key sectors such as industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and other priority areas of the economy.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev advocated for the expansion of practical regional cooperation, further active cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and the establishment of effective migration cooperation.

During the meeting, there was also an exchange of views on various mutual interests.

Following this, a discussion was held with Saida Mirziyoyeva, Aide to the President of Uzbekistan, focusing on key areas of bilateral cooperation such as economy, culture, and education, with particular emphasis on labour migration. Both sides agreed to enhance their dialogue to further develop a mutually beneficial partnership.
