Voluntary retirement plan limits for 2025

All employees can contribute up to $23,500 to each of the voluntary plans, up from the 2024 limit of $23,000. Those age 50 and over can contribute an additional $7,500 catch-up contribution. And starting in 2025, those who will be between the ages of 60 and 63 in the 2025 calendar year, will be able to contribute $11,250 as their catch-up contribution instead of the $7,500.

WSURP participants please note: If you are contributing at the 10% level, the employee 2.5% contribution counts toward the $23,500 limit for the VIP plan. If you participate in the DCP your 2.5% contribution does not impact this limit.

  • TIAA participants:
If you have elected to contribute the maximum amount to your Voluntary Investment Program (VIP), your contribution amount will automatically adjust to the current yearly maximum based on your age. If you have elected to contribute a set dollar amount instead, you will need to adjust your contribution amount in the TIAA portal if wanting to contribute up to the maximum amount.
  • DCP participants:
DCP elections are either dollar amounts or a percentage contribution rate. You will need to adjust your contribution amount in the DCP portal if wanting to contribute the maximum amount. DCP does not have a yearly automatic increase option at this time.

Visit the Voluntary Retirement Plans website for information on the voluntary plans. Questions can be directed to HRS Benefits at [email protected] or 509-335-4521.
