On November 20th, 2024, a traffic stop was initiated by the New York State Police after a Maserati failed to stay in its lane on State Route 3 in the town of Plattsburgh. During the traffic stop, a K9 was deployed and alerted to the rear of the vehicle. As a result of a probable cause search of the vehicle, over 500 grams (one pound) of cocaine was seized. The driver, Curtiz A. Jenkins, age 47, of New York City, was taken into custody and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree (A-I Felony). He was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and was remanded without bail to Clinton County Jail.
The New York State Police was assisted by Plattsburgh Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff's Department, and Essex County Sheriff's Department.
