With half of the songbird species of the Western Hemisphere in decline, including migratory birds that travel vast distances between breeding and wintering areas, urgent conservation solutions are needed. The Bird Genoscape Project seeks to map the migratory routes of songbirds using genetic tools to identify areas to target conservation efforts. Learn how feathers and DNA are being used to build the next frontier of bird conservation at the 2024 Paul C. Mundinger Distinguished Lectureship given by Dr. Kristen Reugg of Colorado State University and presented by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
