Weekly Lane Closure Advisory for the Transform 285/400 Project

WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for construction activities. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas.

*NOTES: Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check the project web page often for the latest updates. Detour information is shown using red text.
Closures marked with **/++ - Only one of these closures will be implemented.

WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-285 and SR 400 from December 16, through December 23, 2024

Daytime Closures:

Monday, December 16, to Tuesday, December 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • One, left lane on SR 400 northbound from Spalding Drive to North Springs MARTA Station
Overnight Closures:

Monday, December 16, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 northbound from Northland Drive to Glenridge Connector
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 northbound CD lanes from Abernathy Road to Spalding Drive
  • One, left lane on SR 400 southbound at Abernathy Road
Closures and Detours:

**I-285 westbound to SR 400 southbound (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on I-285 westbound to SR 400 southbound should use Exit 27 SR 400 northbound and Exit 5 Abernathy Road to access SR 400 southbound.
**Abernathy Road to SR 400 southbound (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on Abernathy Road to SR 400 southbound should use SR 400 northbound and Exit 6 Northridge Drive to access SR 400 southbound.
**SR 400 northbound CD lanes to Abernathy Road (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 400 northbound CD lanes to Abernathy Road should use Northridge Road and SR 400 southbound to access Abernathy Road.
SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive should use Exit 5 Abernathy Road and Mercedes-Benz Drive (road changes to Barfield Road) to access Hammond Drive.
Tuesday, December 17, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One, right lane on I-285 eastbound from Roswell Road to Glenridge Drive
  • One, left lane on I-285 westbound at SR 400
  • One, right lane on SR 400 northbound at I-285
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 northbound CD lanes from Abernathy Road to Spalding Drive
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 southbound at SR 400
Closures and Detours:

I-285 westbound CD lanes to Roswell Road (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on I-285 westbound CD Lanes to Roswell Road will use Exit 24 Riverside Drive and I-285 eastbound to access Exit 25 Roswell Road.
SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 400 southbound to Hammond Drive should use Exit 5 Abernathy Road and Mercedes-Benz Drive (road changes to Barfield Road) to access Hammond Drive.
Peachtree Dunwoody Road Full Closure (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling north on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to I-285 should use Lake Hearn Drive (road changes to Perimeter Summit Parkway) and Ashford Dunwoody Road to access I-285 eastbound and westbound.
  • Motorists traveling south on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to I-285 should use Hammond Drive and Ashford Dunwoody Road to access I-285 eastbound and westbound.
  • Motorists traveling north on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to Peachtree Dunwoody Road should use Lake Hearn Drive (road changes to Perimeter Summit Parkway), Perimeter Center Parkway and Hammond Drive to access Peachtree Dunwoody Road.
  • Motorists traveling south on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to Peachtree Dunwoody Road should use Hammond Drive, Perimeter Center Parkway, and Lake Hearn Drive to access Peachtree Dunwoody Road.
  • Motorists traveling from I-285 westbound to Peachtree Dunwoody Road south should use Hammond Drive, Perimeter Center Parkway, and Lake Hearn Drive to access Peachtree Dunwoody Road.
Wednesday, December 18, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One, left lane on I-285 westbound CD lanes from Ashford Dunwoody Road to Peachtree Dunwoody Road
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 northbound from Northland Drive to Glenridge Connector
  • One, right lane on SR 400 northbound at I-285

Peachtree Dunwoody Road Full Closure (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling north on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to I-285 should use Lake Hearn Drive (road changes to Perimeter Summit Parkway) and Ashford Dunwoody Road to access I-285 eastbound and westbound.
  • Motorists traveling south on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to I-285 should use Hammond Drive and Ashford Dunwoody Road to access I-285 eastbound and westbound.
  • Motorists traveling north on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to Peachtree Dunwoody Road should use Lake Hearn Drive (road changes to Perimeter Summit Parkway), Perimeter Center Parkway and Hammond Drive to access Peachtree Dunwoody Road.

Thursday, December 19, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two, right lanes on SR 400 northbound from Northland Drive to Glenridge Connector
  • One, right lane on SR 400 northbound at I-285

I-285 westbound CD lanes to Roswell Road (Detour Map)
