Bridge Improvement Project in Seven Counties Focus of Public Meeting Oct. 3

Clinton - The public is invited to participate in an in-person public meeting to learn more about plans to replace or rehabilitate up to 25 bridges in Bates, Benton, Cedar, Henry, Hickory, St. Clair, and Vernon counties, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The open-house style in-person meeting will be held 4-6 p.m., Thursday, October 3 at Benson Convention & Exposition Center, 1008 E. Sedalia Avenue in Clinton.

A virtual (online) meeting also will be available Monday, September 30 through Monday, October 14, and can be accessed at www.modot.org/southwest.

The project, known as the Kaysinger Basin Bridge Bundle, is a $38 million design-build project that will replace or rehabilitate up to 25 bridges in the seven counties listed above. A design-build project encourages innovation to rehabilitate or replace the most bridges in the most cost-effective way through a competitive process.

At this meeting, participants will learn which bridges are currently planned for improvements, the anticipated construction and traffic impacts at each bridge and a broad overview of the current schedule.

Once the contract has been awarded in the spring of 2025, the Kaysinger Basin Bridge Bundle project is anticipated to begin in the Summer of 2025 with completion in late 2027.

We are committed to providing equal access to this event for all participants. Access for people with disabilities is available. If you need a reasonable accommodation or assistance in another language, please contact Southwest District Customer Service at [email protected] or 417-895-7600 by October 1, 2024.
