Suspect Arrested After Shoplifting $4,800 in Merchandise

At about 8:18 PM, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Kaitlyn Mclean, 37, of Ipswich, for shoplifting.

Officers responded to the area of 776 Boylston Street (Lululemon) for a shoplifting in progress. Officers were provided a description of a female suspect who had stolen thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Officers were advised that the suspect left the store and was entering the Dicks Sporting Goods store.

Officers located the suspect who immediately dropped the items upon seeing officers. The suspect was handcuffed and officers recovered forty-eight stolen items. The merchandise was later determined to be valued at approximately $4,812.94.

Mclean was placed under arrest and charged with Larceny over $1,200. After further investigation, officers also determined that the suspect had an active Shoplifting Warrant. She is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
