Daytime Traffic Shift, One-way Traffic Control for State Route 1 (SR-1) Capital Maintenance Project in Marin County

Schedule: Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to perform curb ramp and shoulder work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in September.

A traffic shift will be utilized for curb ramp work and a concrete pour in Point Reyes Station on Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Intermittent one-way traffic control also may be needed.

A traffic shift also will be needed for curb ramp work in Tomales from Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

One-way traffic control will be utilized for shoulder work north of Tomales between the same days and hours.

Changeable Message signs will be put up in the areas to remind residents about the construction.

All work depends on weather.

This overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.

The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.

The completion timeline for the project is Summer 2025.

All work is dependent on weather.
