Michigan National Guard Ishpeming Armory to Host Parc Exposé for Lake Superior Performance Rally on Saturday

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan National Guard (MING) Ishpeming Armory will host a Parc Exposé for the Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR) on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8-8:45 a.m. Competitor cars will be on display and spectators will be able to see the cars and interact with competitors. At 9 a.m., the cars will begin leaving the armory to head out to the first loop of stages. Spectators are asked to park at NORTHIRON Church, next to the armory, and walk over. The armory parking lot will be closed to non-competitor traffic. NORTHIRON Church is located at 910 Palms Ave., Ishpeming. The armory will be serving coffee and hot chocolate and providing bathrooms and a room inside the armory to warm up.

Michigan Air National Guard Capt. Andrew Layton, bilateral affairs officer for Liberia & Sierra Leone, will be participating in the national category of the LSPR driving a Subaru Impreza (Car #449). Andrew's father, Joe Layton, will be assisting Andrew during the race as his navigator. The father and son duo have more than 52 years of combined service in the Michigan Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force.
