Mike Lawler Is Trying to Save Face on His Extreme Anti-Choice Record

Today, after Mike Lawler went on Morning Joe to save face and deceive voters about his extreme anti-abortion agenda, here's a reminder Lawler is more willing than ever to follow Trump's dangerous lead to restrict reproductive freedoms.

During the interview, Lawler tried and failed to make the case that Americans were divided on protecting abortion rights, but poll after poll shows that New Yorkers support federal protections for abortion - which Lawler voted against.

Lawler also simultaneously refused to acknowledge his own voting record in Congress to restrict reproductive freedom, and defended Republicans' extreme anti-abortion bill that could criminalize doctors for providing abortion care - including jail time.

In reality, Lawler "considers himself 'pro-life'", "believes that the right to abortion should be reserved to a tiny subset of American women", and has "been visible in the anti-abortion community."

Additionally, the League of Women Voters of Westchester County announced yesterday that Mike Lawler "would not commit to any date" for a forum hosted by the group - further showing his disregard for prioritizing women's rights and freedoms.
