Building blocks for a healthy future: Vaccinate your children for diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis

Has your baby had the fourthDTaP vaccine?

The DTaP vaccine keeps babies safe, but your child needs all four doses for the best protection. Many children in Philadelphia aren't receiving the recommended fourth dose on time, leaving them open to diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). Vaccinations are important for your baby, and they help to prevent the spread of diseases in the community.

Recommendations

  • Dose 1: 2 months old.
  • Dose 2: 4 months old.
  • Dose 3: 6 months old.
  • Dose 4: 12-18 months old*

*Dose 4 is usually given at 15-18 months but can be given as early as 12 months, depending on your doctor's recommendation.
