Female-Founded Activewear Brand TALA Raises £5m in Funding

TALA, the sustainable activewear brand founded by fitness entrepreneur Grace Beverley, has raised £5 million from prominent investors, including one of the early supporters of the womenswear label Me+Em.

Orrick advised TALA.

Pembroke VCT led the funding round, with participation from existing investors Venrex and Active Partners, TALA said.

THE COMPANY

Established in 2019, TALA's mission is to bring consciously made, active-inspired pieces that deliver on performance, fit, quality and style, without the hefty price tag.

The company remains proudly women-founded and women-run, with most leadership and board positions held by women, distinguishing it from many other female-led companies.

THE IMPACT

The new funding reportedly will support TALA's international expansion, starting with the U.S., where the brand has already seen significant customer interest and social media engagement; the company also intends to explore establishing a standalone retail presence for the first time.

"We look forward to continuing to disrupt the industry with well-thought-through activewear, wardrobe favourites and problem-solving pieces for women, by women," the company said.

THE TEAM

Jamie Moore and Daniel Wayte lead the Orrick team advising TALA with the assistance of Rachel Leigh, Rachel Conder, Hanna Hewitt, Charlotte Oliver, Emma Zarb, Kelly Hagedorn, Anna Humphrey, Jason Wu and Siddharth Balani.
