"HALLOWEEN IN THE VILLAGE" EVENT

ARROYO GRANDE, CA - Today, Thursday, October 31st, Cheers! Arroyo Grande will be coordinating the traditional "Halloween in the Village" event, taking place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

For safety, the City of Arroyo Grande will be implementing special traffic control measures on Halloween. No parking will be allowed on West and East Branch Street from Traffic Way to Mason Street between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2024. During the same hours on the same date, no parking will be allowed at the corner of Mason Street and Nelson Street to allow a safer turning movement for commercial trucks navigating around the Village.

Branch Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2024.The intersections and major driveways onto East and West Branch Street including Bridge Street, Short St., the Car Corral, and Nevada Street will also be closed to vehicle traffic during the same hours on the same date. The closures will be "hard" closures reinforced with barricades. The reason for the no parking zones and the street and driveway closures is to help ensure the safety of the children who will be walking throughout the Village.

The detour route around the Village from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM will be Traffic Way, Nelson Street and Mason Street. There will be a widened turning lane on East Branch St. at Mason St. for commercial trucks between the same hours.

Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution and be aware of the trick-or-treaters walking in neighborhoods throughout the city. If we all work together, Halloween can be a safe event for our community.
