Notice of Sanitary SEwer Overflow July 24, 2024

July 25, 2024 - City of Midland Water Reclamation has notified the public of a sanitary sewer overflow event that resulted in the discharge of approximately 25,000 gallons of untreated sewage into the storm sewer system.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, a sanitary sewer overflow occurred above ground at the corner of Ann Street and Gordon Street. The leak was isolated as of 8 p.m. on July 24. There is no perceived threat to public health and safety.

In accordance with state law, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (ELGE) Quality and the Midland County Department of Public Health were notified of the overflow event.
