The U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii (USAG-HI) has completed the Lead Service Line Inventories (LSLI) required by U.S. EPA's Lead and Copper Rule Revisions for its water systems, and are now available for review. The deadline for the inventories is October 16, 2024.
Under the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), water systems are required to make their initial inventories publicly accessible (40 CFR 141.84(a)(8)). The inventories may be made available on the water system's website, by mail, or in-person at the water system's office.
USAG-HI has prepared the LSLI for submittal to the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Due to sensitive and defense critical information, the inventory with addresses, building numbers, and identifiable information will not directly be posted on the USAG-HI website. If you would like to obtain information about a water line that services your residence, building, or another area you may contact DPW Environmental Division at 520-689-2207 and speak to the Safe Drinking Water Program.
Through completing a historical records review, conducting personnel interviews, and field surveys,USAG-HI has determined it there are no lead service lines in it's distribution system. The inventory does include galvanized requiring replacement and unknown service lines in its distribution system.
USAG-HI reviewed all applicable sources of information, including:
In addition to reviewing the above sources of information, USAG-HIis in the process of physically inspecting all service lines in its distribution system, to verify, locate, and replace galvanized requiring replacement service lines. USAG-HI is in the process of physically inspecting, identifying, and confirming service lines of unknown material type to update service line material information obtained from normal operations, such as service line maintenance, installation, or water meter readings, after October 2024 and will update the initial inventory accordingly.
