Quebec Street and Circle to Close Monday

AMES, Iowa - Quebec Street and Quebec Circle will be closed to all through traffic starting Monday, Aug. 26, weather permitting, for pavement removal and replacement. The sidewalk through the area will remain open. The pavement removal and replacement is expected to be completed in four to five weeks.

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. for the reconstruction of Quebec Street and Quebec Circle. The project will include the removal and replacement of the existing pavement and sections of the existing curb and gutter, sanitary manhole adjustments, replacement of storm intakes and pipes, and the installation of a new fire hydrant in the island of Quebec Circle. Additionally, sidewalk ramps at intersections will be updated to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
