MISSOURI CITY ANNOUNCES THE RETIREMENT OF BELOVED POLICE CHIEF BRANDON HARRIS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Missouri City, TX - September 9, 2024 - After more than 28 years of distinguished service, Police Chief Brandon Harris has announced his retirement, effective January 2025. Chief Harris, a true pillar of the Missouri City community, has left an indelible mark on the City and its police department.
Chief Harris joined the Missouri City Police Department in June 1996 and steadily rose through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as Police Chief in 2024. His tenure has been characterized by his unwavering commitment to community engagement, innovative policing, and building lasting relationships with residents and local organizations. Known for his genuine care for the people he served, Chief Harris has been instrumental in creating a safer, more united Missouri City.
"Chief Harris has not only been a remarkable leader, but a beloved member of our community," said Angel L. Jones, City Manager. "His integrity, compassion, and dedication to service have left an extraordinary legacy that will be felt for generations."
Throughout his career, Chief Harris has been deeply involved in professional law enforcement organizations, including the FBI National Academy Associates, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Texas Police Chief's Association. His leadership extended beyond city limits, inspiring officers and communities across Texas.
As Missouri City prepares to celebrate Chief Harris's career, plans for a community-wide farewell event will be announced in the coming months. The City expresses its heartfelt gratitude for his exceptional service and leadership, and we wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement.
