Bibb County: I-475 NB to have lane closures for a bridge replacement project

BIBB COUNTY, Georgia -Beginning Sunday night August 11th, 2024, GDOT contractors plan to close the inside lane on I-475 Northbound and the inside lane on I-475 Southbound. These closures will be located at the Tucker Rd overpass bridge. Temporary barrier walls will be utilized and placed in each closed lane to facilitate a permanent traffic shift. Traffic will only be able to use the 2 right travel lanes in this area and the speed will be reduced from 70 mph to 60 mph once the closures go into effect. This condition will be in place for up to one year.

The closure is associated with GDOT 's Bridge Replacement project on Tucker Road.
